BENEFITS OF MASSAGE
Some of the benefits that regularly scheduled massage therapy can offer
Massage is one of the oldest forms of physical therapy. Ancient civilizations started using massage medically over 5000 years ago, because they found it to be beneficial for treating specific injuries, illnesses and easing pain. Massage therapy was also known to promote relaxation and a sense of well-being. However, current research is beginning to validate what most clients already know about massage: it can help ease or prevent many common ailments that are often treated with prescription drugs and/or hospitalization. Massage therapy is based on the ability of the body to naturally heal itself.
Massage therapy has been shown to
- Decrease stress and blood pressure
